General Statement: · The intent of this policy is to establish Girls Fast Pitch traveling teams under the authority of Twist Council.
Name: · The name of the teams played at each age level of play shall be:
Age: · The age groups shall be: 18&Under, 16&Under, 14&Under, 12& Under, and 10&Under
Registration: · The travel teams must be registered with ASA, USSSA, NSA and PONY.
Eligibility:
· Any girl who meets the age eligibility as established by their age as of January 1st of the year of eligibility.
· Any girl from any fast pitch league is eligible to play but can NOT play on two travel teams.
Tryouts / Selection:
· All tryouts will be conducted by TWIST council or members thereof.
· There will be a marketing effort to entice large numbers of tryout applicants.
· There will be tryouts on two weekends and one week night, of which the girl must make one of the tryouts, scheduled in August.
· Final selection will be based on girl's ability and desire to play. TWIST Council will make the final team selection by August 31 of each year.
· Each team will consist of a minimum of eleven (11) players selected through open tryouts, and an optional twelfth player at the manager's discretion.
Managers: · A manager will be selected by TWIST Council in each age category prior to tryouts. There will not be tryouts for age divisions that do not have an approved manager. The coaches will be recommended by the manager after team selections and approved by TWIST Council. The manager must provide Act 34 and 151 clearance. The manager will be reimbursed once acceptable documentation is received and approved.
Insurance: · Shall be provided by TWIST Council.
Financial:
The fee charged to each girl on the team will be a maximum of $400, payable to TWIST Council by February 1st of the following year. The fee covers the cost of uniforms, equipment, and tournament fees.
Any excess money will be equally distributed to the players.
Each player must provide TWIST with a non-refundable check for $50 within one week of selection to confirm participation.
Any fundraiser must have TWIST approval.
No current TWIST sponsor shall be contacted.
NOTE: travel cost to away tournaments is NOT included in the fee. Year round batting fees or pitching fees is NOT included.
· If the fee is NOT paid by February 1st, the girl is automatically off the team.
Other · Selection process will be year-to-year.
